COMMUNITY, charity and voluntary groups from across Rossendale have taken part in a ground-breaking new programme designed to help them turn their ideas into action.
Action for Community Enterprise (ACE) is a Business Link programme - run by Kingfisher Consultants, in partnership with Community Action in Rossendale - that is free to the the groups who take part.
Martyn Willcock, a spokesman for Kingfisher, based in Rawtenstall, said: "We have just completed the first programme and it was extremely well received by everyone who took part.
"In the past community and charity groups have been left to fend for themselves and have never had anywhere to turn for advice on the myriad of issues they face.
"ACE has been specifically designed to help them become more effective in areas like income generation, promotion and staff development."
The programme consists of a series of workshops and one to one consultancy visits, where experienced consultants work one-to-one with the groups to identify specific issues.
Kingfisher have another programme planned to start in January. Any organisation interested can call Martyn Willcock on 01706 606000 for further details.
