BURNLEY started brightly against the high flying Albion with Glen Little and Tony Grant in the thick of the midfield battles.

The Baggies where intent on rough-housing Burnley and were aided by inept referee Nigel Miller - with Sean Gregan and Bernt Haas being particularly guilty of taking a tough line.

Andy Johnson should have been sent off for hacking down Tony Grant, who then was himself booked for an innocuous slide tackle moments later.

It took some good rearguard action from Mark McGregor to deny Rob Hulse.

Minutes later Hulse tussled with McGregor and then got a straight red card for elbowing.

Brian Jensen had to get down quickly to deny the ever dangerous Baggies striker Geoff Horsfield, while Mo Camara was giving Haas a torrid time with surging runs.

Finally Haas scythed down Camara to earn a yellow card.

Burnley finished the half brightly with David May and then Graham Branch heading over.

On the stroke of half-time, West Brom were awarded a free-kick on the edge of the Burnley area but this was came to nothing.

At half-time, Dean West replaced Luke Chadwick and slotted into midfield with Glen Little playing wide right.

Glen came into his own in the second half with some great link-ups with Lee Roach and Robbie Blake.

It was no surprise when Little fed Robbie Blake who turned his marker and rifled the ball past Russell Hoult to give the Clarets a deserved lead.

Burnley continued to press then as seems to happen, gave away a soft goal with Horsfield out-pacing David May to equalise.

Both teams went for the winner and a stunning injury time Robbie Blake volley was superbly saved by Hoult.

Well done Burnley -a good point won. Let's now look forward to our FA Cup run. My man of the match was Tony Grant.
