BLACKPOOL Mechanics completed a North West Counties Football League Division Two double over Padiham on Saturday to keep up an incredible record of never being beaten at the Arbories.
Marc Beattie did the damage in the first half, scoring twice to give Blackpool a 2-0 half time advantage. His first after 10 minutes came when a simple through ball allowed the lively forward to beat the Storks attempted offside trap and shoot past Marsden.
His second on 32 minutes was again the result of a through ball and his ability to outpace the Padiham defence before hitting the shot in off the post to double Blackpool's lead.
James Gill hit the visitors' crossbar in Padiham's next attack and when Blackpool's Peter Taberner was sent off in the 40th minute for a second yellow card, it looked like Padiham might be able to find a way back into the game.
Instead, Padiham had a man sent off themselves when captain Anthony McCluskey was red-carded just on half time.
In the second half the arrival of Padiham substitute Ian Whittaker brightened things up for the home side and almost immediately the player forced Mechanics keeper Stuart Barton to tip over a curling shot.
From the corner a Carl Parker cross found Ian Pilkington unmarked but the striker failed to control the ball and the chance was lost.
Five minutes from time Blackpool finally cooled the game off when substitute Wayne Gardiner added a third for the visitors to complete a miserable afternoon for the Storks.
