ROBBIE Blake has stoked up the FA Cup fourth round clash with Gillingham by declaring it the biggest game of Burnley's season.

Blake was back among the goals as the Clarets drew 1-1 with West Brom last weekend to keep their mini-revival rolling along.

And the 15-goal hitman knows Stan Ternent's men have to go one better this weekend to see off the Gills and set up what could be a financial lifeline for the club.

The Burnley board will today outline more measures aimed at plugging the £750,000 'black hole' threatening the club's immediate future.

But Blake feels the players can do their bit by guiding the club to a potential money-spinning fifth round tie.

Blake said: "All the lads will try to keep their minds away from the financial situation and treat Gillingham as just another game.

"But obviously it's a massive game for the club and the players, and we really need to win it because of who might lie ahead in the next round."

Blake feels confidence has been restored to the camp following the hard-fought draw with Albion, who are unquestionably one of the strongest teams Burnley will face on home turf this season.

He added: "I think everyone has perked up in recent weeks. We haven't had a great season, but there have been so many games where we have deserved to get something out of the game and haven't.

"But on Saturday I'd like to think we showed we won't lie down. West Brom are a tough side at the top of the league and they made life extremely difficult for us.

"But we showed again we are a match for anyone on our day and certainly it will take a very good team to beat us at Turf Moor.

"The lads are all feeling more confident after being unbeaten for three games and hopefully that will continue."

Blake picked up a little shot of confidence himself after returning to the scoresheet against the Baggies.

The Clarets joint £1m record signing had failed to find the target in four games to bring back memories of a nine-game barren spell earlier in the season.

That ended in November with a strike against Rotherham that kick-started a spectacular sequence of seven goals in as many games.

And Blake hopes Saturday's classy strike will lead to more celebrations lying ahead in the coming weeks.

"It was nice to get a goal again," said the relieved striker. "It had been four games and you start to get a little anxious."

"I'd had a nice little run of scoring in quite a few games, and that's 15 for the season now and hopefully this can be the start of another run."

Burnley fans are being advised to buy tickets for Saturday's clash against Gillingham in advance to avoid queues at the turnstiles that affected last weekend's game.
