A NEW traffic system is set to be introduced to minimise disruption at Blackburn's £100million new hospital site.
Since work on the single site scheme at Queen's Park last July there have been numerous disruptions caused by construction work.
But, aside from site access changes from today until February 13, the disruptions should soon be over.
The entrance near the KFC restaurant on Haslingden Road will become exit only. Entrance to the Queens Park Hospital site, which will house all hospital services in Blackburn from 2006, will be through the existing main entrance off Haslingden Road.
Mike Hall, head of facilities, said: "Work is progressing on the Single Site Development and this means that there will be some temporary changes to the way that traffic enters and is routed through the hospital.
'We have put measures in place to ensure that this causes minimum inconvenience to patients, visitors and staff."
