LOCAL charities are to benefit from a Christmas gifts amnesty.
Golborne Asda is giving disappointed recipients of unwanted presents the chance to get rid of them with a clear conscience.
A trolley will be place at the front of the store until February 13 when the contents will be distributed to deserving causes in the area.
Customer services manager Brenda Evans said: "I'm sure we've all received the odd present or two that we wouldn't dream of buying ourselves.
"Rather than consign them to the back of a cupboard we thought it might be a good idea to donate them to charity. We promise to keep the names of donors under wraps."
