TRAVEL agent staff are losing lbs to gain £s to help send a terminally ill cancer patient colleague for treatment abroad.
Four employees at Going Places, Leigh, have in just two weeks shed a stone and a half between them and raised over £200 for Donna's Dream charity.
Manager Sara Sheedy, Joanne Parr, Collette Frain and Leona Rogers are following Collette's Weight Watchers plan in a sponsored slim they hope will contribute to the £100,000 needed to send Wigan branch manager Donna Kendrick to Germany for treatment.
Donna, 30, who was diagnosed in 2001 has been told nothing more can be done in this country to treat her, but hope came via the internet when her father discovered a doctor in the Czech Republic willing to help her.
She flew out in December for treatment to boost her immune system, paid for by the charity, and now needs further care in Germany.
Staff at offices throughout the UK are working hard to raise the cash needed.
Joanne said: "The support has been overwhelming. It is amazing how the appeal has affected other people but we need to raise the money as quickly as possible."
Anyone willing to donate can contact the Leigh office staff.
