THREE schoolchildren proved to be perfect ambassadors for Bury when they went live on a BBC children's radio station last Friday (January 16).
Now programme makers of the BBC 7 digital radio show Big Toe are considering travelling from London to do a feature on Bury.
Eleven-year-olds Matthew Palmer, Katharine Durham and Anna Stringer from Holcombe Brook Primary School travelled to London with deputy headteacher Dave Smith to appear on the show.
They interviewed up-and-coming singer songwriter Katie Melua and spoke with a presenter of the ITV's children's programme Brilliant Creatures.
Head of the Longsight Road school, Mr Graham Howarth, said: "I watched and listened to them on the internet.
"After their appearance, the children wrote a thank-you letter which I e-mailed over. The producers replied and asked whether we would like to send more children from the school to appear on the programme because the three came across so well. They also suggested doing a programme on Bury."
Mr Howarth added: "I am so proud of them. They proved to be ambassadors for the school and the town. It was also very good experience for them."
