VILLAGERS of Tockholes were singing the praises of two farmers who dug them out when the only road from the community was cut off by eight foot high snow drifts.
Bill Rhodes of Higher Hill farm and Bill Gibson used a mechanical digger to shift the snow.
And householders were given a 'boil all water' warning as 600 water authority workers went on strike.
