LEE McEvilly is grateful to Accrington Stanley for throwing him a footballing lifeline.
The 21-year-old joined the Reds on loan from Rochdale earlier this week and made his debut in the 3-0 win over struggling Tamworth on Tuesday night.
It was the first time McEvilly had played 90 minutes of football since the Spotland outfit beat rivals Bury in the FA Cup first round on December 5. And he loved every minute of it.
"I haven't played for about eight weeks so I just want to get a run of games under my belt," he said.
"It felt good on Tuesday and it was nice to win."
McEvilly's two-year contract at Rochdale runs out at the end of this season. So the striker hasn't ruled out the possibility of making his move to the Interlink Express Stadium permanent.
"It's a good club that's going places so we'll see what happens."
