ONE small step for man, one giant crawl for Ramsbottom youngster, Joshua Mellor.
For the six-year-old has become the first child in the borough to complete Bury Council's Bookcrawl.
Joshua has become a regular at Ramsbottom Library which has led him to win a prize for clocking up more then ten visits under the Bookcrawl scheme.
The council's library services team is backing the national campaign to get youngsters to into reading early. And in Bury, any youngster reaching ten or more visits, which are recorded on a specially-stamped card, can claim a prize. The scheme was launched in October and young Joshua became the first to cross the finishing line.
The young bookworm was presented with his prize at Ramsbottom Library, Carr Street. He received a book and a special certificate provided by Bookstart, which runs the Bookcrawl initiative.
