ROCHDALE are the latest football league club to sit up and take notice of the form showed by Radcliffe Borough's Davey Luker.
Sources at Spotland admitted the club had hoped to keep its interest under wraps, but although no official move has been made it is believed Dale are monitoring the situation keenly.
Dale follow fellow third division side Cambridge United in looking at Luker, with the 21-year-old also having been recommended to both Crewe Alexandra and Nottingham Forest.
Meanwhile, Kevin Glendon's search for a Boro side that can turn the season around goes on, with the revolving door to the Stainton Park dressing room continuing to spin.
Stalybridge Celtic's 22-year-old central defender Terry Bowker, joined 23-year-old former Manchester United and Bolton Wanderers striker, Paul Wheatcroft on a month's loan at Boro.
"Neil Whitworth has damaged his medial ligaments and will now be out until his loan period with us ends, so the chance to sign Terry is a timely one," said Glendon.
"It gives us a chance to see what he's like and him an opportunity to play first team football, he recently lost his place after being a regular for Stalybridge since the beginning of the season." He should make his Boro league debut on Saturday.
Wheatcroft is a former England schoolboy international and boasts league experience: "Paul is still only 23 and has an excellent pedigree, having been with Manchester United, Bolton Wanderers and Scunthorpe," said Glendon.
"He obviously has ability and I think he just needs to find a club that will let him express that ability, that club maybe Boro." He too could be in Boro's team on Saturday.
On the way out are loan signings Whitworth and Robbie Whellans, joined by midfielder Danny Hooper.
"Danny is unable to commit the amount of time necessary to become an integral part of the team due to work commitments and I wish him the best," said Glendon.
Bowker was in action for Boro in a friendly at Accrington Stanley on Wednesday night when Boro emerged 3-1 winners.
He was joined by trialist right back John Foster, the former Manchester City star and brother of striker Steve Foster, who played for NWCFL side Trafford earlier this season. He has been signed and could make his league bow for Boro on Saturday.
Another trialist, the diminutive 19-year-old Mark Redshaw, a former Manchester City, Stockport County and Wrexham youth player was introduced and got on the scoresheet, along with Steve Foster and Josh Mitten.
Team was: Hurst, Foster J, Kelly, Bowker, Whealing, Spencer, Marginson, Carden, Battersby, Foster S, Mitten. Subs: Redshaw
Frickley Athletic are the visitors to Stainton Park tomorrow (3pm) in a game brought forward from Tuesday, March 9, and Glendon is sure of one thing - Boro need to win.
"We have to win if we are to stand any chance of making the top 13 to qualify for next season's Conference North division," he said.
When the teams met at Westfield Lane in September, Boro went down 3-0, so a win would also avenge that mauling.
