Burnley bounced back from defeat to beat fellow high-flyers Copley Giants thanks to the Bolt brothers.

For Darren and Dave scored 19 points apiece to erase the memory of the narrow six point defeat against South Cheshire earlier in the week.

Burnley came storming out of the blocks with big three pointers from ex-Irish National Leaguer Donal Cummins and with good inside play from the home side's big men saw them take a handy 19-10 lead at the end of the first period.

The second quarter saw Copley recover a little ground, Manchester and ex National League legend Nigel Siddall, along with his son Neil Siddall now at Manchester Magic, turned up the heat with a variety of offensive plays from inside and outside the arc. But good shooting from Gavin Killian and Dave Bolt made sure the home team kept their noses in front, with a half time score of 37-31 to Burnley.

The third quarter saw Burnley accelerate away to try and break the resolve of the visitors. Big defensive plays from Mark Driver and Nigel Robinson were enabling influential guard Cummins to set up easy scoring opportunities for brothers Dave and Darren Bolt, and this saw Burnley establish a 60-45 lead.

Copley decided at this point to get back into the game by disrupting the flow of the game at every opportunity -- the fouls began to fly, and the referees really had to earn their corn. The final four minutes of the last quarter took 21 minutes to complete due to the lack of discipline shown by some of the visiting team.

Burnley now enter a quiet period of the season- out of the cup, and some fixture planning mean that their next game is away at Oldham on February 10.

This gives some of the injured players a chance to recover and the squad to work on things that they will need in the final run-in.

Scorers: Darrren and Dave Bolt, 19 pts, Donal Cummins 17pts, Mark Driver 13pts, Gav Killian 5pts, Nigel Robinson and Michael Thompson 4pts, Mike Marks 3pts, Steve White 2pts.
