FRIENDS will turn to foes for at least 90 minutes for Mark Patterson tonight as the Chorley boss meets up with former club Leigh RMI.
The Magpies take on the Railwaymen in the Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy quarter finals at Victory Park, looking to bounce back from their disappointing 2-1 league defeat at home to North Ferriby.
And Patterson is looking forward to locking horns with the Nationwide Conference side he managed until earlier this season.
"It will give the game some added spice," he said.
"I'm always in contact with their manager Phil Starbuck, who was my assistant.
"I gave him my blessing to take the manager's job when I left Leigh. He is a good friend of mine, and some of the players I've known for a long time.
"But friendships will be put to one side.
"The result would be great. We're the underdogs, especially with them being on the back of a fantastic result against Morecambe at the weekend.
"But all I want out of the team is a good performance.
"The result isn't important to me, as long as I can get us doing the right things."
