HOW disappointing to hear how much the Burnley Football Club were charging per person to go to the forthcoming gala dinner with guests Alex Ferguson and Alastair Campbell.
To our utter astonishment, the price is £100 per person or £1,000 per table of 10 which they would prefer. Surely Burnley FC must see that if walk-on fans or lost season ticket holders of which six of us were, can't afford to pay £15 to £18 for a match admission.
How are loyal fans expected to be able to afford £100 for this dinner? After all the publicity in the press and media, what do they want? Loyal fans through the turnstiles every week or corporate puppets who have no love for their local club.
I have always thought that Burnley FC relied on their loyal fans, but alas it seems the sign of the times have sadly changed.
