ACCRINGTON Stanley are facing a midfield crisis ahead of their Lancashire FA Marsden Trophy quarter final clash at Bamber Bridge.
Andy Procter limped out of Saturday's 1-1 draw at Burton Albion after twisting his knee in a sixth-minute tackle, while his replacement, Ged Brannan, suffered a recurrence of a thigh strain he sustained last week.
Central midfielders Paul Cook and Andy Gouck are still sidelined through injury, while Steve Flitcroft complained of a calf problem after Saturday's game at Eton Park.
"Our midfield's absolutely decimated," said assistant manager Jimmy Bell.
"We gave Andy the weekend to see if his knee settles down.
"Hopefully it will but I doubt he'll be available tonight.
"We weren't going to risk Ged on Saturday but had to with Andy getting injured, but now he's got a sore thigh again.
"Steve Flitcroft was struggling as well after getting a kick but hopefully he'll be okay."
But Bell confirmed Stanley would be fielding something of a makeshift midfield as they look to progress to the Marsden Trophy semi-finals tonight (kick-off 7.45pm).
"We might have to throw Gordon Armstrong in there after he came through half the game when we had our friendly against Radcliffe last week," he said.
"Paul Howarth and Peter Cavanagh can play in midfield, as well as Lee McEvilly, so we will get by.
"But this is an important part of the season and we have a lot of injuries and suspensions that have all come at the wrong time."
Central defender Steve Halford completed the first of a five-match ban on Saturday while fullback Cavanagh could be banned for four games after both have been sent off three times this season.
STANLEY'S under 18s lost their LFA Youth Cup quarter final tie against Lancs FA 1-0 last night.
The Reserves entertain Barrow Reserves at the Interlink Express Stadium tomorrow night (kick-off 7.30pm.)
As usual admission is £2 for adults and £1 for concessions, season ticket holders are admitted free.
