I AM researching my father's branch of the family and am interested to discover if there is anyone around the Darwen/Turton area with the name of Trainor who may be related in any way.
My great-grandfather Henry Howarth married an Alice Trainor, who was born in Turton in 1862. Alice had two brothers Richard and Fred and their father's name was John Trainor, born in 1829.
John had married a Sarah Hamer at Bolton Registry office in 1853 but in the 1881 census Sarah is living at 37 Crewsdon Street, Darwen, with her three Trainor children, but she is listed as Sarah Greenhalgh.
Alice Trainor married Henry Howarth and my grandfather James was born in 1887 at 3 Greenway Street in Darwen.
