That's the question which will be going through the mind of Lucas Neill and his Blackburn team-mates as Damien Duff prepares to return to Ewood this weekend for the first time since he left for Chelsea in the summer.

And unless Neill and Co come up with some answers then I fear Rovers could be on a hiding to nothing against Claudio Ranieri's title-chasers.

I'm not being flippant when I describe Duff as the best wide-man in Europe because that's how highly I rate him.

Arsenal might have splashed out £20 million on Jose Antonio Reyes, an exciting 20-year-old winger from Seville.

But for me, Duff is still the top dog and if he continues to show the kind of form that he did in the first half of the season then it's not beyond the realms of possibility that the title could still head down the King's Road come May.

If you want an idea of just how crucial Duff is to Chelsea's chances then take a look at their results when he was out of the side through injury recently.

Every side needs genuine width in order to open teams up and Duff is the man who provides it for the Londoners.

It's going to be interesting to see exactly how Rovers intend to stop him.

Does Graeme Souness instruct someone like Neill to get tight on him or will he look at trying to stop the supply to him?

That would involve asking your wide midfield player to play a bit deeper than normal to stop the service into Duff.

But Damien is such a good player that it might not make much difference.

He can go outside, he can go inside, he scores goals and creates them and believe me, he'll be fired up to put on a show against his old club.

I always used to love playing against my former clubs.

I remember going back to Newcastle with Rovers. I was on the bench that day but the manager asked me if I wanted to go on up front for the last half hour or so and I said 'yes please!'

I ended up scoring twice that day -- the only time I ever achieved that feat in a professional game -- and boy did it feel good to prove a few people wrong.

Damien will no doubt want to put on a similar performance, not that he's got anything to prove to Rovers.

We all know exactly how good he is which is why we will fear him the most out of all Chelsea's stars on Sunday.

Let's just hope he has a rare nightmare!
