RESIDENTS have been complaining about the bus shelter just below the school on Brownside Road which they say has a leaky roof and is in danger of falling down. Burnley Council engineers have been requested to investigate. Unfortunately, the council has only a very small budget for the maintenance and repair of bus shelters. Nevertheless, residents are hoping that something can be done to improve the shelter.
UP TO £10,000 is available to create green spaces for the community. The grant from British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) offers people the chance to make a difference to their community by transforming a derelict, underused or unsightly area of land or a building into a usable space.

THE Parish Council has been informed that farmers and landowners face criminalisation by Government plans to make them legally and financially responsible for removing rubbish fly-tipped on their property.
Countryside groups and farmers leaders have condemned the move.
