THE highest snow fall of the winter caused the biggest snare-up on East Lancashire roads since 1947.
The villages of Tockholes and Brindle were cut off, bus services were disrupted and there was chaos throughout the region.
A Langho rambler died during a blizzard on top of Pendle Hill despite heroic efforts of ambulance crews who braved the weather to try and rescue him.
