THE rugby World Cup is on its way to Lancaster.
The Webb Ellis Trophy, won so gloriously in Australia by Jonny Wilkinson's last minute drop goal, is to go on display at Vale of Lune RFC on Monday, February 16.
And the trophy will not be alone - also on show at the Powder House Lane club will be the Six Nations Trophy and the Calcutta Cup.
The three trophies, all held by England, are on a nationwide tour aimed at heightening the profile of grass roots rugby clubs all over the country.
And Vale of Lune are making sure they make the most of the opportunity - building a whole day of events around the two-hour trophy visit from 12.30pm to 2.30pm.
A schools rugby tournament organised by Vale's mini and junior rugby sections will take place from 10am and throughout the afternoon there will be skills training sessions led by the Vale coaches.
