TYLDESLEY RU recorded another win with a 22-15 victory over mid-table BAe Barrow.
The Shipbuilders took a early lead but Tyldesley fought back to lead 12-10 at the break with tries for Andrew Dickinson and Mark Dickinson, Ashley Worsfold adding a conversion.
In the second half Barrow grabbed another unconverted try but further tries from Craig Pulman and Mark Dickinson yet again saw Tyldesley home. This Saturday Aldwinians visit St George's Park.
Tyldesley Knights moved back to the top of the league with a hard fought 11-10 win over title favourites Stockport.
Tyldesley started the stronger and good work from the forwards led by skipper Ian Worsfold resulted in Stockport giving away two penalties, both converted by Fraser Mackintosh.
The visitors grabbed a unconverted try out on the wing when they managed to pierce the resolute Tyldesley defence. Leading 6-5 at the break Tyldesley looked to start the second period the way they did the first, however Stockport had different plans and they scored another unconverted try straight from the restart.
Tyldesley then had to reshufflee with hooker Ian Pritchard going off injured and winger David Channell spending the last 10 minutes in the sin bin. With four minutes left, a break by Worsfold found Danny Woodward in support and he judged a well weighted kick to perfection for winger Rick Pennington to win the chase and the game at the death.
Tyldesley Dragons met league leaders Preston at St George's Park and outscored them two tries to one but the game ended all square 10-10.
Tyldesley Stallions travelled to Preston and came unstuck against a very experienced side who ran out easy winners 44-3.
