THE first adult in Rossendale to be made subject of an Anti Social Behaviour Order may be kept away from his old haunts in a bid to end the trail of misery he has caused.
A judge is taking steps to send Ryan Anderson, 25, to live at a probation hostel out of the area in a bid to punish him constructively and stop him offending.
District Judge Andrew Meachin slammed Anderson's behaviour as a "horror story," and told him he was a "complete and utter nuisance" who had caused a lot of aggravation to a lot of people.
The judge told Burnley Magistrates Court that rather than sending the defendant to jail he was going to consider the possibility of sending him to a hostel under a community rehabilitation order with residence conditions.
District Judge Meachin said it was not uncommon for somebody taken out of their area of offending to take the the chance to try and make something out of their lives.
He continued: "I am not here as a social worker but we have to be constructive. Sending him down will solve the problem for only a few months."
The judge bailed Anderson, who must currently live in Burnley, until tomorrow for the probation service to make enquiries about assessment for a hostel place.
He was ordered to live at Caldervale Guest House, Holme Road, and to report to Burnley Police Station tonight.
Anderson, formerly of Dale Street, Bacup, was made the subject of the two year ASBO earlier this year is already also serving two concurrent community rehabilitation orders, one under the Addressing Substance Related Offending Programme.
Under the terms of the ASBO he is banned from Bacup town centre between 8pm and 7am, is not to commit any acts of damage, is not allowed to commit public order offences and is not allowed in any licensed premises in Bacup.
He now faces sentence after pleading guilty to admitting using racially aggravated threats, abusive or insulting words or behaviour last October and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, two charges of destroying or damaging property and affray last November.
Anderson has also admitted three counts of committing further offences during conditional discharges imposed for two charges of threatening behaviour and drunk and disorderly, failing to surrender to custody in and criminal damage .
The defendant also faces five allegations of failing to comply with community rehabilitation orders imposed for possessing an offensive weapon, theft charges and police obstruction.
Bill Rawstron, defending, told the court Anderson did not seem to have committed offences while in the Burnley area and the majority of his crime was in Bacup. He last fell foul of the law last December.
He added that until late 2000 the defendant had led a relatively stable and supportive life.
