AS a motorist I am fed up with the constant battering drivers get over driving too fast on the county's roads.
While I accept that not all motorists are not law abiding citizens, who drive with due care and attention, it really angers me when other travellers permitted to use our roads are not given the same criticism.
By this I am referring to cyclists, often the young, who see no harm in riding on the highways without proper lights and no reflective clothing.
During the winter months, when the mornings and early evenings can be quite dark, I have witnessed dozens of people riding their bikes on the roads without the required safety wear/equipment.
On many occasions I have had near misses with these people who, through no fault of my own, I have just not seen.
I am not a 'bad' driver and do stick to the speed limits, if not for fear of getting caught on a speed camera, but the police should realise that there are other people on the roads who need reprimanding just as much when they don't abide by the rules of plain common sense when using the public highway.
