WHEELCHAIR users have welcomed the opening of two new all-ability paths in the Forest of Bowland.
The paths, from Quernmore and Tarnbrook, near Abbeystead, up on to the surrounding moors, were funded by a £6,000 grant from the Countryside Agency.
The project involved upgrading existing paths, fitting new gates, and creating wheelchair-friendly benches at scenic viewing stations.
Wheelchair user Graham Carter, from Blackburn, a representative on the Lancashire Local Access Forum, said: "The views from the sitting area are stunning, and it will be uplifting and therapeutic for disabled people to spend an hour, or so, there."
