BRENT Peters reckons last week's win over Clitheroe has kept his team's season alive.
The Bacup Borough boss predicts that players will be fighting for semi-final places after their 1-0 away win against the Blues in the League Challenge Cup.
Peters said: "I'm hoping that result has a knock-on effect because it keeps us boiling over and players should be playing for to be in the team for the semi-final.
"But between now and the semi there will be new faces. That's not taking anything away from the lads here but I need quality in depth.
"We've worked hard to get to the semi-final so we don't want to throw the chance away because we are thin on the ground."
Peters certainly has no squad problems ahead of tomorrow's home game with Atherton Collieries in North West Counties Division One.
Darren Quick, Mark Rostron, Paul Davies and Stuart Telfer are back in contention for a place after missing the win at Clitheroe, a game which Scott Gilchrist came through unscathed after returning form injury.
Darren Esdaille, who has spent the week being treated for a thigh strain, is Bacup's only doubt -- apart from the weather.
Peters added: "We are desperate to play so will be doing everything we can to get the game on.
"There hasn't been a game on the ground for three weeks so the pitch is perfect apart from a layer of snow on top. But a decent thaw and there should be no problem."
