A BURNLEY nursery is helping parents quit smoking.
Le Monde Petit Day Nursery, in Bank Parade, has teamed up with the Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Primary Care Trust's smoking cessation service to provide an information and advice session for parents and family members.
It takes place at the nursery on Wednesday, February 11, at 6pm, and is also open to interested members of the public.
Free creche facilities will be available for parents attending the session.
Christine Donnelly, specialist smoking cessation co-ordinator, will give out facts about smoking, including addiction and withdrawal, the support available to those thinking about stopping and methods of stopping such as nicotine replacement and Zyban.
She said: "Stopping smoking is difficult, it certainly isn't a one-off event and preparation is the key to success.
"However, there is a lot of free help and support available and evidence shows that getting professional help can increase your chances of stopping for good."
Nursery owner Peter Hindle, said: "Currently, there is a lot of publicity about the benefits of stopping smoking, not only for the smoker themselves, but also for those who live with them and spend time in their company, such as babies and young children.
"At the nursery, we think we are in a good position to help parents and others find out about services available locally to help them give up smoking."
To book a place at the session, telephone nursery director Jennie Bracewell on 01282 427120.
