AN office worker at Asda Blackburn will soon be jetting off to America to represent the store at the annual company shareholders' meeting.
Lisa Yates, 31 of Bombay Street, Griffin, will be joining 17,000 representatives of all divisions of parent company Walmart, the American-owned shopping giant, in Bentonville, Arkansas, at the end of May.
She was chosen for going out of her way to help shoppers in the store, her attitude to the job and her bubbly personality.
Lisa who has worked for three years in the store, as both a greeter and communication co-ordinator. She is now working as a personnel clerk.
Asda Blackburn events co-ordinator Carol Davis said: "When we found out Lisa had been selected we made her wear an American cowgirl's outfit all week and walk around the store. All the customers were congratulating her.
Mother-of-two Lisa said: "I'm delighted and very proud to be chosen to represent Asda Blackburn in this prestigious event."
