THERE was to be a quick return to normal in the shops and factories of East Lancashire following the end of the lorry drivers' strike.
The drivers were to go back to work on Monday for £65 for a 40-hour week, an increase of 21.8 per cent.
Passengers escaped unhurt when a double-deck bus skidded on black ice and crashed into a house in Clayton-le-Moors.
