CHORLEY have been boosted by the signing of Scarborough striker Tom Raw on loan for the rest of the season.

The UniBond Division One side have been in the market for a striker since the turn of the year and the Whitby-born player could make his debut at home to Leigh RMI in the Lancs FA Marsden Trophy quarter-final tonight.

Raw, who turned 20 on New Year's Day, came through the Scarborough youth set-up and burst onto the Conference scene last season, although he hasn't been able to hold down a first team place this year.

Chorley's tie with Leigh is re-arranged from last Tuesday, when it was postponed because of the weather.

The same fate also put paid to the Magpies' trip to Stocksbridge Park Steels in UniBond Division One on Saturday.

All the division's games were called off, including Kendal Town's visit to Rossendale, who have also been busy in the transfer market.

New manager Jim McCluskie has signed former Chorley man Phil Lockett from Leek Town and also recruited Richard Townsend from Marine and Harrogate Town's Scott Bonsall on loan.

Dale are next in action at Colwyn Bay on Saturday in UniBond One, while Chorley take on leaders Matlock Town at Victory Park.
