ON Sunday, December 7, 2003, I was due to transport a party of blind people to a Christmas lunch. On arriving at the car park I found the minibus had been vandalised for the second time, the windows broken and various items stolen.
The most important thing stolen was a clamp which we need to fasten wheelchairs down in the back of the bus. This meant that since December we have not been able to transport elderly blind people in wheelchairs because the particular clamp is not now in production.
I have tried all over to get a replacement but to no avail, until this week, when I received a call from Blackburn Ambulance to say they had a clamp which we could have.
Could I thank Mr Wilf Jones for his kind co-operation in this matter. We can now transport people in wheelchairs -- that is until the next time.
