WHILE I agree with some of the points raised in the Ofsted report about the standard of education in Moorland, I feel I should write about the good the school has achieved.
It was only two weeks ago when your paper issued an article on Year 11 business studies students featuring their book 'A Moorland Pony' praising their work.
In December 2003, the choir represented their school in the Festival of Light Hospice Service held in Blackburn Cathedral.
Also in December 2003, the school hosted their annual Pensioners' Christmas Party, funded by pupils holding a non-uniform day.
Again in December 2003, the school hosted an entertainment evening, it was a pleasure to watch so many talented children and teachers singing, dancing and playing musical instruments. Also that night students were selling hand-made cards and baskets of bulbs, all made in school.
There are lots of activities in the afterschool clubs which a lot of children enjoy. So while you report on the school's FAILINGS please also report on the ACHIEVEMENTS.
