CAMPAIGNING East Lancashire MP Gordon Prentice wants the Government to legislate to tackle the problem of uninvited doorstep traders.
The Pendle Labour backbencher has backed a new campaign to give powers to Trading Standards officers to crack down on the callers.
Mr Prentice said: "There was a newspaper report recently of a cold caller claiming to be from a double glazing firm who threatened to kill a couple who said they didn't want new windows.
"Clearly, this would have been a terrifying experience, particularly for elderly people."
