THE first organised coach trips to bring tourists into Accrington are set to roll next month.
Plans to promote the town as a tourist attraction have been in the pipeline since last year, when work on the new town centre market square and shops was underway.
In May, Hyndburn Council was awarded £77,000 of European funding to boost its tourism bid.
Now a shopping itinerary has been put together which will include a visit to Oswaldtwistle Mills and the town's markets.
In a report to Accrington town centre regeneration board Nigel Rix, the council's regeneration chief, said: "The first Great Days Out in Accrington programme involves a partnership between Accrington Markets and Oswaldtwistle Mills."
Other itineraries are currently being drawn up to include the Haworth Art Gallery, town centre shopping and markets, history and heritage, Accrington Stanley Football Club, great outdoors, and back to nature.
