MATTHEW Kelly lookalike Antony Jenkins is heading for a new life Down Under.

Next month Antony, his wife, Angela, and seven-years-old son, Jack, will swap the sights of the Leeds-Liverpool canal for the Great Barrier Reef.

The family are moving to Townsville in North Queensland where photocopier engineer Antony will take up exactly the same job he does here with the Toshiba organisation.

Antony, of Kirkham Road, Leigh got stars in his eyes for Australia when he visited Sydney on a round the world honeymoon in 1995. And last Friday he made his last lookalike appearance as the whiskered talent show host at a charity event in Leicester -- then promptly shaved his beard off.

And though he is sad to see the end of his deadringer career here, he is

considering setting up his own agency in Oz.

Antony, a 6ft 1in father-of-two, was told he first looked like the TV personality when he was based with the Army in Germany 20 years ago.

As the actor-presenter became more famous he was regularly approached in the street for autographs and three years ago signed up with a top London agency.

His final TV appearance was on Stars and Their Doubles a couple of weeks ago, and he recently had a mention on the Graham Norton Show which featured Matthew and Victoria Beckham.

The keen skydiver said: "I have enjoyed the three years as a lookalike, it has been brilliant. I have met Matthew and he is a great person, but we fell in love with Australia and decided to go there.

"It is a new experience, a new adventure, and we have lots of family and friends who will come out to see us."

Angela, a support officer for the Stroke Association, is a qualified netball coach and hopes to find work in that field.
