AN assault charge was dropped against a taxi passenger after a video showed the driver throwing a punch, a court heard.
Rochdale Magistrates heard that Ian Peter Royle, aged 33, of Simister Lane, Prestwich, had admitted criminally damaging the taxi.
But, after hearing that Royle had kicked the taxi once and the driver had claimed it had cost £600 to repair the damage, magistrates adjourned the hearing until February 19, to hear the full facts.
Magistrates formally withdrew the charge of assault causing actual bodily harm to Mr Nasim Khan.
