ANDY Burnham's proposal re car insurance seems to be another means of self-publicity.
As a car driver who pays up for insurance regularly, I know, as does every other legitimate car owner, that to get a road tax disc, one has to produce certain documents.
One of those is a current insurance certificate.
Therefore it would appear that having a current tax certificate in the window of the car should indicate that the insurance is in being.
So why another useless bit of bumph?
Still I suppose these exercises help to justify his place in parliament with huge salary and perks.
