THE annual Winter Hill Fell Race takes place on Sunday, February 15.
The 11-mile race includes a 2,700ft climb and is not suitable for novices.
Starting at 10am from Higher Rivington Barn, Rivington Lane, Horwich, the race visits nine check-points before finishing back at the barn. Registration takes place at the lower barn.
Runners must be aged over 18, must carry windproof body cover, a map of the course, compass, whistle and emergency food.
Entry costs £4 or £10 on the day. Entry forms are available from local leisure centres or from Horwich Harriers website www.horwichrmiharriers.co.uk

North West Water have requested that no recce runs are done over the course before the race.
