AS a season ticket holder and a supporter for 60 years I entirely agree with your columnist's comments that the Rovers are now in the main 'gutless wonders' .
However, my main worries are connected with substitutes being left to rot on the bench ,in particular Matt Jansen.
Either he's match-fit or not,and if not then he should not be on the subs' bench.
Unless Jansen is selected to start a game and preferably in place of Yorke, then frustration and resentment will very quickly set in and he will naturally look for first team football elsewhere.
Someone in the crowd on Sunday suggested Jordan would have had more effect against Chelsea than Yorke and might even have prevented Lampard from scoring twice.
Sadly we read this week of the death of Ally MacLeod. What a great player he was from the Douglas ,Clayton era. I recall on a steaming hot afternoon being at The Valley in 1958 seeing the Rovers beat Charlton, with Duggie on one wing and MacLeod on the other. Even the Charlton fans admired him that day..
