BLACKBURN Under 13s hit the goal trail, beating Barnsley 5-0 in their challenge match in South Yorkshire.

Sean Jarvis gave them an early 10th minute lead and they added another couple before the break through Chris Mason and Anthony Lynch.

Blackburn continued to dominate the game after the restart and they completed the scoring with goals from Ryan Steele and Scott Moulden.

The Under 13s hope to make it a hat-trick of wins when they travel to take on Spen Valley in a challenge match on Saturday.

Blackburn Under 12s also make the journey into West Yorkshire, taking on Spen Valley's younger representative team.

Blackburn Under 14s made it a double, beating Barnsley 4-2 in their challenge match.

They also took a 3-0 half time lead with goals coming from Scott Carlton, Michael Aspin and Daniel Pilkington.

Barnsley reduced the arrears through Matthew Higgins six minutes into the second half but Blackburn added their fourth with a Sean Martin goal before Barnsley grabbed a second through Thomas Hinchmore.

The Under 14s take on Blackpool in a Lancashire Schools' Wrennal Trophy League match at Pleasington on Saturday, kick off 10.30a.m.

Blackburn Under 15s make it a double header taking on Blackpool in a Lancashire League match.

The Under 15s are currently on top of the league, having won five of their seven league matches to date, and now look certain to make it into the top four play-off places.

Burnley Under 15s are also hoping for a top four finish and they are favourites to take maximum points from bottom of the table Rossendale when they meet at Townley Park on Saturday (10.30am).

Rossendale Under 14s keep in match trim with a challenge match against Warrington at Fearns High School on Saturday (10.30am).

Pendle Under 14s have a Wrennal Trophy League match travelling to take on Preston at Preston Arena on Saturday (10.30am).

Meanwhile, St. John Fisher and Thomas More School (Pendle) suffered a cup knockout when they went down 4-3 to Whitehaven School in the first Round of the ESFA Under 16s Individual Schools Cup.

St. Bede's RC High School (Blackburn) maintained their fine form in the ESFA Under 14s Individual Schools Cup and they moved into the last 32 with a 4-1 win against St. Bede's Boys Grammar school (Bradford).
