YOUNGSTERS turned the page on their usual lessons to enjoy a special week of books and reading.
St Bernadette's primary school in Whitefield held their book week event to encourage the children to take an interest in reading. During the week, pupils browsed through books on sale, took part in workshops and dressed up as characters from their favourite books.
And pictured dressed up as the 118 118 men are Joseph Duffin (11), and Adam Foden (10).
Mr Des Burns, headteacher at the Abingdon Avenue school, said: "We hoped that the week would encourage the children to get excited about reading."
Staff from Bury Library Services also visited the school to help the children learn how to use the library and put on their own version of Macbeth.
