THE Chinese New Year was celebrated in cracking style in Preston at the weekend with a feast of music and colourful entertainment.
Singing, dancing and traditional Chinese food was laid on at the city's Guild Hall to celebrate the Year of the Monkey.
The event was organised by Preston and District Chinese Community Association with music and dancing from a band from Shenzen City, China, called Futian Art Troupe.
Raymond Chung, chairman of the association, said: "We are very fortunate to have strong support from Preston City Council and Lancashire County Council.
"We are proud to be able to contribute to Preston and play our part in the UK."
Chinese New Year celebrations started on January 22 and ended on Thursday, February 5.
