A PADIHAM man left fighting for his life following an alleged town centre stabbing has died.
Robert Davidson, 58, of Parish Street, Padiham, died in Burnley General Hospital yesterday morning some time before 1pm.
Mr Davidson died after an altercation broke out in Wasdale Close, Padiham, at around 6.30pm on Sunday.
Detectives are re-examining the case after Mr Davidson's death and are still continuing with their investigations.
Police said they still have a number of witnesses yet to speak to in connection with the incident.
William Hill, 40, a chef at the Hare and Hounds, of Wasdale Close, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent.
He was granted conditional bail when he appeared before Burnley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
His bail conditions state that Hill must not apply for any travel document, must not contact prosecution witnesses and must not enter Padiham or any licensed premises.
He is to appear at Burnley Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on February 24.
