MORE than 70 residents in Prestwich are saying "no" to O2.
The mobile phone company wants to erect a 12.5 metre telecommunications column on the pavement outside the Park Hotel.
But householders in Lowther Road, Gale Road and Scott Road claim the equipment will be an eyesore, will affect the value of their homes and could pose a health risk.
A 72-name petition has been submitted to Bury Council and residents are to meet with ward councillors, Steven Treadgold and Maggie Gibb this afternoon to discuss their objections.
The application is to be determined at Tuesday's (Feb 10) planning control committee.
Planning officer John Cummins said: "In this case the borough engineer has recommended refusal due to the impact on visibility at the junction of Gale Road and Lowther Road."
