DO you fancy helping raise some much-needed cash to aid Bury Football Club through the summer break?
Then sign up for Forever Bury's sponsored walk to Spotland for the club's Third Division clash against fierce local rivals Rochdale on Saturday, March 13.
The match is sure to be a real revenge mission, given that Dale have twice defeated the Shakers at Gigg this season.
And trust officials are hoping as many fans as possible will get in training for the estimated seven mile trundle.
It's the second year the supporters' trust have organised a walk to the Shakers' near neighbours, although officials were a little disappointed at the number of people who picked up sponsor forms, given more than 2,000 supporters made the trip for the Good Friday fixture.
The walk, which is expected to leave Gigg Lane at 10am on the morning of the match, has the potential to be the biggest money-raiser the trust has ever organised and supporters are urged - whether members of Forever Bury or not - to sign up and start raising sponsorship.
It's proposed that any money raised will be donated to the club in return for shares, as the trust aims to boost their growing shareholding in the club, and, in turn, help it through the difficult summer months without gate revenue.
Meanwhile, the Bury Times will be publishing a barometer in the coming weeks to illustrate how many people are signing up for the challenge.
Forms can be collected from the Forever Bury cabin on the Gigg Lane forecourt before tomorrow's Southend United match, and the Bury FC Commercial Offices during normal office hours.
The Trust are also holding a Valentine's Day Dinner Dance at the Bury FC Social Club on Saturday, February 14.
Dress is smart-casual, there's a four course meal with entertainment from vocalist Wayne Allen and a disco.
Tickets are £25 each with tables for ten priced at £250.
To book, contact the club's Commercial Department on 0161-705 2144 or e-mail Jeremy Clegg on jeremy@botv.co.uk
