HASLINGDEN are reforming and heading back to Ewood Bridge six years after the club folded.
A new committee is in negotiation with the owner of the ground with a view to securing a lease for their return to competitive football next season.
Haslingden hope to join either the West Lancs or East Lancs League and are planning to advertise for players and management.
They originally quit the North West Counties League in 1998 just a year after securing promotion to Division One.
But repeated appeals for more help running the club failed and a lack of local support, coupled with their troubled relationship with the Ewood Bridge landlords, forced the club officials into the decision to fold.
Attracting volunteers to a ground owned by a private business proved too difficult at the time, but it hasn't deterred the current club from having another go.
