ELVIS fanatics from around the world put on their Blue Suede Shoes and headed to a top Blackpool (Heartbreak) Hotel for a musical contest with a difference.

The "Walk A Golden Mile In My Shoes" event, dubbed Europe's largest Elvis Convention and Contest, attracted hundreds of Elvis look and sound-a-likes who all helped to Jailhouse Rock the Queens Hotel, South Shore.

The winner of the main Saturday night contest was Surbiton's Matt King, closely followed by the Czech Republic's leading Elvis tribute act, Vladimir Lichnovsky, all the way from Ostrava. Kent's Scott Elvis came third.

Adam Hankinson of Southport won the amateur category ahead of Leicester's Patrick Hart and Romford's Dean Fenton.

The Black Elvis category was a trans-atlantic contest between Bibby Simmons of the USA and Europe's Colbert Hamilton, ending in a draw, to the delight of the crowd.

And nobody wanted to Return to Sender on the Sunday when fans could instead enjoy 12 hours of their favourite performer and that was all from one singer!

Fans of the King could also enjoy a world record -- thanks to Eddie Vee, from York. He sang a non-stop selection of Elvis hits for 12 hours, non-stop.

His feats were raising money for Cancer Research and dozens of Elvis fans were on hand to see his performance.
