ARTISTS and ex-servicemen have produced a unique art exhibition for Blackpool.
The town's Blott artists' group and the Comrades of the Great War Club have got together to create an exhibition of new and existing paintings, sculpture and photography at Blackpool's Grundy Art Gallery, Queen Street, until March 6.
Blott, a team of six professional artists, moved to studios above Blackpool's Comrades Club, Adelaide Street, in 2001. The idea for an exhibition was born because of the 'striking difference' between the two groups using the same building.
The exhibition includes new work by Blott artists, together with 13 paintings selected by five Comrades from the Grundy's permanent collection.
"Some of these have never been exhibited in the gallery before, ranging from 19th and 20th century paintings, to a composition of photographs showing Blackpool in the late 1800s," added a gallery spokesman.
