AS an environmentally friendly, young citizen of Blackburn, I am disgusted to find the condition of the 'waste' land behind Burnley Road. It has deteriorated somewhat, in recent months. I feel it has become a dumping ground for any old rubbish -- tyres, glass and many more non-recyclable items.
As I visit my grandma's on a daily basis, I have seen this problem expand and have become more concerned with what it might end up like in a few years.
Owing to your Thrash the Trash campaign, I feel that this particular grot spot is one you need to work on.
I hope that Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council will set out to improve the condition of the land.
As this is part of a regeneration area, let's see some action.
JAMES HAMILL, (age 11), Shadsworth Close, Blackburn.
