AN open evening is being held for parents interested in sending their children to after-school maths and English classes.
The event is about the Kumon learning method, which aims to build confidence and ability by making learning more enjoyable.
It involves children, from tots to teenagers, tackling work at their own pace with the help of trained Kumon instructors.
The maths programme ranges from counting to calculus, and the English programme from sounding-out words to studying Shakespeare.
Local instructor, Rosie Toye, said: "Kumon is based on students of any age or ability working on an individually tailored programme that emphasises confidence through achievement.
"It is as appropriate for someone who struggles at school, as for someone who would like to extend themselves beyond their school level."
Anyone interested is invited to attend the open event at the Kierby Hotel, in Kierby Walk, Burnley, on Wednesday, February 18, any time from 3pm to 7pm.
For more information telephone Rosie on 01706 813595.
